Ways to prepare your lining for an embryo transfer

In the run-up to treatment, increasing blood flow to the uterus and increasing feel good hormones and endorphins can be super helpful.

Here I’m sharing some techniques for supporting implantation ahead of embryo transfer…

1. Fertility Yoga. Yoga like any form of exercise increases blood flow. Fertility yoga can target the pelvic region and help increase blood flow to the uterus which can help with building the uterine lining and implantation.

2. Womb massage or fertility massage is an evidenced-based therapy which involves a lower abdominal massage ahead of embryo transfer. Research show that it can improve implantation rates by increasing uterine blood flow, lowering stress hormones and increasing endorphins.

3. Earthing is a simple way to lower your stress. It simply involves taking your shoes and socks off and standing on a natural conductive surface like grass, sand or water. It can reduce cortisol, reduce stress and improve sleep ahead of treatment

4. Vitamin E supplementation and foods - research has shown that vitamin E supplementation can help improve the thickness and quality of the uterine lining and can be especially helpful in the case of a thin lining. Speak to your IVF consultation or a fertility nutrition practitioner who can advise.

5. Castor oil packs can promote circulation to the uterus and ovaries to support healthy lining as well as improve egg quality and quantity

6. Beetroot - there is some encouraging research (albeit small studies) supporting the use of beetroot and watermelon juice to help prepare and maintain the lining for successful implantation. Beetroot has lots of benefits but contains nitrous oxide which is a vasodilator and promotes healthy blood flow,

7. Acupuncture - working with a fertility-trained acupuncturist for three months leading up to an IVF cycle can help support a heathy uterine lining and optimise your chances of success.

If you are struggling with infertility and think inflammation may be playing a part. Book a call to discuss how working with me 121 can help to address this.
