The programme has been super successful for us: we are now expecting a baby in September 2021.

We had been trying to conceive for 18 months, and had already tried several rounds of IUI without success. Our attempts to conceive were complicated by my low sperm motility. Our first round of IVF was unsuccessful as my wife responded poorly to ovarian stimulation; we found out she had low ovarian reserves. We thought that we would not be able to conceive at all. 

We wanted to find a way of attempting to improve our fertility chances that was less emotionally invasive and exhausting than rounds of hormones and hospital appointments. We were also looking for a more holistic approach to our wellbeing, as we both felt exhausted after months of trying to conceive.

Our first appointments and meetings with Emily were very reassuring. It was great to be able to discuss our questionnaires and lifestyle habits in an honest and supportive way. Emily was able to put us at ease, but also suggest changes that were important to our general health. Her suggestions around diet were always clearly explained so that we felt that we had a greater understanding of why we needed to reconsider what we were putting into our bodies. Over time, our focus shifted from dietary choices to more holistic issues to support our emotional wellbeing, including sleep habits, journaling and mindfulness to promote more emotional wellness. These changes were the hardest to adopt, but Emily was understanding and supportive in encouraging us to try these new things and improve our whole quality of life. We both loved that the programme went beyond our food intake and that Emily encouraged us to adopt greater flexibility in our diet and lifestyle. We really valued that Emily’s focus was on overall health, not just ways to improve fertility.

We have both been able to maintain the new diet and lifestyle choices that Emily suggested. The suggestions that Emily made are compatible with sustainable diet choices, and she was able to offer many recipe suggestions that we regularly enjoy.

“After 2 years of struggling with infertility, eating an anti-inflammatory diet, being as healthy and active as possible, hours of research, taking all the "miracle" supplements and tracking our ovulation with the Mira app, we were at our wit's end.

I took part in Emily’s programme this year as I wanted to get my missing periods back and be at a point where thinking about conception could be an option.

It had been nearly a year since my last period and during this time I suffered from horrific intermittent pain. After many trips to the doctors and hospital visits I was diagnosed with PCOS, told that the pain was probably cyst accidents and that I might also have endometriosis which I am currently waiting on more treatment /investigation for.

I was starting to feel like at 35 children might not be an option for me as I simply wasn't ovulating and experiencing debilitating pain.

Emily’s course was incredibly informative and there was so much that I learnt from food to science and its impact on the body and how we can improve and take control of our health.

I decided to sign up for Emily's programme while waiting for fertility treatment with the NHS. We have been trying to conceive for 15 months after coming off oral contraception.  However, my cycles had not returned during this time due to long term use (20 plus years).

I was worried as I'm 35 already but due to the current Covid situation the waiting list was extremely long with no appointment in sight, so I wanted to look at ways to improve me and my husband fertility while we waited. I found Emily online and the group course sounded perfect for us. I really enjoy learning and looking after my health and the course didn’t disappoint. There was a lot of new information to be learnt about diet, exercise, habits, products to use and the environment we live in. I particularly liked the workbooks that let me immerse myself in that week's topic and build habits I could hopefully sustain.

Emily was always helpful, friendly and explained things well.
